Belarus boosts industrial output 6% in H1

MINSK. July 17 (Interfax) - Belarusian industrial output grew 6% year-on-year in constant prices to 88.5 billion Belarusian rubles in January-June 2023, national statistics agency Belstat said.

Industry grew 4.1% year-on-year in January-May, 2.3% in January-April and 1.8% in January-March 2023 after falling for the previous 13 months.

Output grew in the extractive industry by 4% in 6M 2023 and in manufacturing it rose 7.4%. It fell 1.6% in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning and rose 0.6% in water utilities.

Industry grew 15.5% year-on-year in June alone. It rose 4.9% in June compared with May 2023.

Industry fell 5.4% in 2022, grew 6.5% in 2021 and fell 0.7% in 2020.
