VSMPO-Avisma's Perm division head named CEO

YEKATERINBURG. July 17 (Interfax) - The board of directors of VSMPO-Avisma Corporation , Russia's leading titanium producer, has appointed Dmitry Trifonov, who has headed the company's Avisma branch in Perm Territory since 2012, to the position of chief executive, VSMPO-Avisma's press service told Interfax.

"Trifonov assumed the office of head of the corporation on July 17," a company spokesman said.

VSMPO-Avisma said in a statement that Trifonov has been appointed for a three-year term from July 17 to July 16, 2026.

Trifonov joined VSMPO-Avisma in 1984 and has a "huge amount of technical and management experience at all levels, travelling a career path from hot metal roller to executive director of the Avisma branch in Perm Territory," the press release said. He was born on October 15, 1962 in Verkhnaya Salda, Sverdlovsk Region and graduated from the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute.

Avisma deputy director for technology Vladimir Babin has been appointed acting executive director of the branch.

Avisma, located in Berezniki, is one of VSMPO-Avisma's two operating production facilities. The second is located in Verkhnaya Salda.

Former VSMPO-Avisma CEO Dmitry Osipov stepped down in April, before the end of his term. VSMPO-Avisma first deputy CEO and executive director Nikolai Melnikov served as interim head until the appointment of the new CEO.
