Court in Moscow fines Ivi online movie theater 1 mln rubles for showing LGBT content to minors

MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - Moscow's Ostankinsky District Court has imposed a 1-million-ruble fine on the Ivi online movie theater for showing LGBT content to minors, the court told Interfax.

"An administrative fine of 1 million rubles has been imposed on Ivi.ru LLC," the court said on Thursday.

The online service was found guilty of distributing content showing non-traditional sexual relations among minors online.

An Ivi representative told Interfax that grievances against the online service arose over the incorrect, according to Russian telecoms watchdog Roskomnadzor, age labeling of the movie Perfect Strangers.

"We continue to proactively work with our content base and ensure that all content on our platform is correctly labeled. We have done a lot of work to prevent underage users from accessing 18+ age-restricted movies and TV shows, and continue [to carry out] manual and automated content verification," the representative said.
