Biden, Zelensky discuss readiness for talks on security guarantees

WASHINGTON. July 13 (Interfax) - U.S. President Joe Biden and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky have noted the readiness to discuss U.S. security guarantees for Kiev as they met on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

"The leaders [...] discussed U.S. readiness to begin negotiations with Ukraine on bilateral security commitments to ensure a sustainable force capable of defending Ukraine now and in the future," says a statement published on the White House website.

Biden commented on Ukraine's NATO membership before departing for Helsinki.
