Norway joins G7 initiative to support Ukraine - PM

BERLIN. July 13 (Interfax) - Norway has decided to become a participant in the G7 initiative to support Ukraine, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said on Wednesday.

"Norway joins the G7 declaration of support for Ukraine," the Norwegian government quoted Stoere as saying in a statement.

Earlier on Wednesday, G7 member states said in a declaration that they will assist the development of Ukraine's defense industrial base, train Ukrainian forces and share intelligence. Other countries wishing to contribute to efforts to support Ukraine could join the declaration at any time, it said.

Also on Wednesday, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said that Oslo would supply Ukraine with 1,000 Black Hornet mini-drones which could be used for reconnaissance. Norway will also deliver components for NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems to Ukraine.
