Former Globaltruck head co-founds larger new FTL trucking company

MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - Ilya Sattarov, known for his work at Globaltruck and Magnit , has become a co-founder of a new large FTL trucking company.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Sattarov became the head of National Carrier JSC with an authorized capital of 1 billion rubles, registered on July 7 in Moscow.

The company's main area of operations, according to the founding documents, is operation of road freight transportation.

Sattarov was the head of logistics and supply chains at Magnit in 2011-2019 and served as Globaltruck CEO in 2019-2023.

"Ilya Sattarov has headed up the newly created National Carrier JSC since July 7, 2023, and was also its co-founder. The company plans to organize FTL transportation by road using its own fleet, as well as the resources of hired carriers," a National Carrier spokesperson told Interfax.

A number of Globaltruck managers have joined Sattarov in the new project. As reported, Sattarov departed as CEO at the end of May at his own initiative, after Globaltruck acquired the Monopoly transport group.

As the National Carrier press service told Interfax, the company's fleet at the initial stage will consist of 400 truck and semi-trailer combinations, with a 50/50 ratio of dry (curtain) and refrigerated semi-trailers. The company will operate on domestic routes, and also plans to expand to international destinations in the future.

National Carrier has preliminary agreements with large customers including marketplaces, as well as in the retail, FMCG and DIY segments. "By the end of the year, we envisage a great demand for carrying capacity, so there is interest on the part of customers," the company's press service told Interfax.

The press service for KAMAZ , the largest national truck manufacturer, did not comment on whether the delivery of equipment to the new carrier had been discussed.
