Ukraine cuts output of general rolled steel 41% in H1 2023

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine's metals enterprises cut production of general rolled steel 41% year-on-year to 2.375 million tonnes in January-June 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing operational data from the UkrMetProm association.

Steel output dropped 37.7% to 2.829 million tonnes and pig iron fell 37.5% to 2.836 million tonnes in H1 2023.

As reported, Ukraine slashed production of general rolled steel 72% year-on-year to 5.35 million tonnes, cut steel output 70.7% year-on-year to 6.263 million tonnes, and slashed pig iron production 69.8% year-on-year to 6.391 million tonnes in 2022.
