Georgian, Armenian PMs meet in Tbilisi to discuss more cooperation, launch of strategic dialogue

TBILISI. July 7 (Interfax) - Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan who is visiting Tbilisi on Friday.

The two sides discussed the dynamic of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural spheres and the current situation and challenges in the region and globally, the press service for the Georgian government said.

In a joint bid to promote regional stability and their wellbeing, Armenia and Georgia have agreed to launch a high-level dialogue over strategic issues, it said.

"Attention focused on trade and economic matters. The prime ministers expressed their willingness to take their countries' economic cooperation to a new level," the statement said.

After meeting one on one the sides discussed cooperation in a larger format, involving Georgian and Armenian ministers, the service said.
