Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food lowers export beef prices

MINSK. July 7 (Interfax) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus has changed the minimum export prices for beef sold in carcasses, which is also supplied to Russia.

Based on the resolution of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, published on the national legal Internet portal, as of July 7, the minimum cost of supplying fresh and frozen carcasses of young cattle is $3.7/kg, down from $3.9; adult cattle now costs $3.6/kg, reduced from $3.8.

Similar prices have been set for the export of beef cattle to EAEU countries, the CIS, Georgia and countries outside the CIS.

Current prices for dairy products exported to Russia have not changed.

As per an earlier decision of the Belarusian government, as of June 2022 the Ministry of Agriculture and Food sets minimum export prices for a number of food products for specific sales markets: Russia, EAEU countries (except Russia), CIS countries (except for the EAEU countries and Azerbaijan) and Georgia, Azerbaijan, and countries outside the CIS (except Georgia).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported that in 2023 the production of cattle meat in Belarus was forecast to increase 4% to 640,000 tonnes.
