Mangystau NPP power unit again on emergency shutdown in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. July 7 (Interfax) - The No. 1 power unit at Mangystau Nuclear Power Plant LLP has been shut down again, and repairs are scheduled to be completed by July 9, Mangystau NPP's press service reported.
"On July 6, at 5:33 p.m., the No. 1 power unit was once again shut down at the Mangystau TPP for the same reason. Mangystau TPP's personnel are presently conducting preparatory operations in order to repair the power unit," according to the press release.
"Repair operations are set to begin at 0:00 on July 8. From that time, it requires more than 24 hours to cool the power unit boiler. The plan is to repair the power unit prior to 24:00 on July 9," Mangystau NPP said.
The company has noted that there are no restrictions on electricity to households, and there are no restrictions on water supplies to settlements.
