Russia sees great potential in working with Ethiopia in agricultural processing - Trade Representative

VOLGOGRAD. July 6 (Interfax) - Russian companies are ready to help Ethiopia in the processing of agricultural products, said Russian Trade Representative in Ethiopia Yaroslav Tarasyuk.

"With huge production of agricultural products and nearly 80% of the working population in Ethiopia employed in agriculture, of course, the Ethiopians have a problem with the processing and storage of agricultural products. And here we have great potential for developing cooperation," Tarasyuk said at the "New Realities. Market Reorientation: Export, Import and Logistics" business session on Thursday in Volgograd.

In addition, he noted that Russia intends to help develop the transport hub now being created in Ethiopia to develop trade with the states of East Africa and southern Sahara.
