Armenian-Azerbaijani peace agreement not ready yet - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. July 6 (Interfax) - The text of an Armenian-Azerbaijani peace agreement is not ready for signing, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"Progress made at negotiations between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Washington was insignificant, but we made some headway nonetheless. I am due to meet with the Azerbaijani president with the mediation of the European Council president in Brussels shortly," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

"Regretfully, the text of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not ready for signing," he said.

"I hope to bring everything positive stated in Washington to the substantive field at the upcoming meeting. We need to resolve all problems by diplomatic means," Pashinyan said.

The Armenian government said earlier that a meeting of Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and European Council President Charles Michel was scheduled for July 21 in Brussels.
