MINSK. July 5 (Interfax) - Belarus and Russia have agreed to build a tire recycling plant in Russia's Voronezh region, the corporate publication Vestnik Belneftekhim reported.

"An agreement was concluded by the Moscow-based Russian Environmental Operator (REO) under the Ministry of Natural Resources with the companies Ecological Initiative and BelengineeringstroyInvest. The document was signed in Ufa on the sidelines of the Tenth Regions of Belarus and Russia Forum. The project cost is estimated at 854 million Russian rubles," the report says.

It was reported that the project would be implemented on the territory of a special economic zone for industrial production in the Voronezh Region.

"We continue to develop cooperation with our Belarusian partners. An agreement was signed at the forum that involves interaction in the field of handling secondary resources, specifically the processing of rubber products and used tires. Joint projects will be implemented on the principles of a circular economy aimed at maximizing the involvement of secondary resources in economic turnover," Denis Butsaev, general director of REO said.
