Ukraine, Sweden intend to share restricted-access information

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government approved a draft intergovernmental agreement with Sweden on the exchange and mutual protection of restricted-access information at a Tuesday session, Ukrainian media reported with reference to Taras Melnichuk, the government's representative at the Verkhovna Rada.

The agreement regulates measures to be taken by the parties to mutually protect restricted-access information, establishes the equivalence of access restriction categories, and determines agencies responsible for its implementation and ways of transferring such information (via diplomatic channels or otherwise, as determined by the two countries' security agencies).

The document says that the sharing of such information between the two countries would not be imperative, and they would do this on their own initiative, taking into account national interests.
