Russia to offer to Malaysia range of space services for possible cooperation - Roscosmos head

MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - Roscosmos head Yury Borisov arrived in Malaysia, where he discussed cooperation in the sphere of space with Malaysian Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang, the state corporation said.

"Roscosmos has serious competencies in the sphere of space and is ready to offer to the Malaysian side a broad range of tracks, products and services for possible cooperation in the future," Borisov was quoted as saying in the report.

According to Roscosmos' information, the establishment of bilateral interaction with the countries of Southeast Asia and Malaysia in particular was discussed.

"Chang Lih Kang spoke about Malaysia's plans to develop the space industry of this state, the Russian side then presented its proposals on cooperation in the sphere of Earth remote sensing and, in particular, the geoinformation system for agriculture management, Earth remote sensing services for forestry and water management, cartography and construction object monitoring," the report said.

Borisov said at a session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2023 on June 16 that Russia was ready to share competencies in the sphere of satellite construction with friendly countries and think about joint projects.

The Roscosmos head said on April 26 Algeria, Myanmar, Vietnam, Egypt, and South Africa were considering contracts with Russia for the launch of satellites that will be developed under contracts with them.
