Some consumers in several Ukrainian regions cut off from electricity - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - Some consumers in several Ukrainian regions were cut off from electricity as of July 4, the Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.

Some consumers in the Sumy, Kharkov, and Chernigov regions, as well as in the Kiev-controlled territories of the Zaporozhye, Kherson, and Donetsk regions, are left without electricity, the ministry said.

At the same time, efforts are being made to record and clean up the aftermath of the flooding caused by the blowing up of the dam. There are still 13,000 consumers without electricity in Kherson. Power engineers are trying to restore power supply.

Consumers in the Kiev, Kirovograd, Odessa and Chernigov regions have been temporarily left without electricity due to unfavorable weather over the past day, the Energy Ministry said.

The electricity supply has been fully restored in all of the four regions over the past 24 hours, but two populated localities in the Sumy region and eight in the Cherkassy region still remain without power supply. Some consumers in the Kiev region were also cut off from electricity supply due to technological failures.

The 110 kV interstate electricity transmission line to Moldova was temporarily disconnected in the Transcarpathian region due to nasty weather, and all consumers were powered from the backup facilities.

"The commercial import of electricity amounted to 715 MWh over the past 24 hours, and there is no export," the ministry said.
