Russia extends quotas on ferrous metal scrap exports until end of 2023

MOSCOW. July 4 (Interfax) - The Russian government has extended quotas on exports of ferrous metal scrap and waste for another six months, until December 31, 2023.

The quota will be 600,000 tonnes, the same as it was for the first half of 2023. The export duty within the bounds of the quota will remain unchanged at 5% but not less than 15 euros per tonne.

More of the quota - 80% - is distributed in proportion to indicators calculated for each participant in foreign trade activity by adding the amount of scrap and waste exported from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022 and multiplying by coefficients for Russia's regions.
