Russian subsidiary of Pirelli headed by Russian citizen for first time in 11 years

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Anton Tereshin has been appointed General Director of Pirelli Tire Russia, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

Previously, Tereshin served as CFO for Pirelli in Russia and the CIS.

Pirelli Tire Russia has been managed by foreigners since November 2011, when Andrea Pirondini took the post of general director. In 2012 he was replaced by Costa Ardissone Carlo. In 2013, the post was taken by the Duke of Aosta and Savoy, Prince Aimone di Savoia Aosta.

In December, in a New Year's address to the members of the Italian Monarchic Union (Unione Monarchica Italiana), the duke announced that he was returning with his family to Italy after almost 30 years of living in Russia.

As reported, in March 2022, Pirelli suspended investments in its tire factories in Voronezh and Kirov, with the exception of investments necessary to ensure safety in the performance of operations. In 2022, Russia accounted for 4% of the group's sales and 11% of its total capacity.

According to data on the Pirelli website, the company has 18 production sites in 12 countries and sells products in 160 countries. In Russia, the company's plants are located in Voronezh and Kirov, with production capacities of 2 million and about 6 million tires per year, respectively.
