VKontakte social network CEO and technical director leaving company

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - VKontakte social network CEO Marina Krasnova and VK Vice President for Technology and Development and VKontakte Technical Director Alexander Tobol have decided to leave the company, VK said in a statement.

The social network will from July 3 be managed by a collegial body - a management team, which will include representatives of VK top management and representatives of VKontakte management. The management team will be responsible for operational processes, strategic decision-making and new development.

Krasnova and Tobol have decided to "pursue their own project."

"The social network's updated management format reflects how most of VKontakte's key decisions are made. This approach has proven effective and will allow the social network to continue to grow its audience, and create and improve services for users," Vladimir Kiriyenko, CEO of VK, is quoted as saying.
