Russian part of Black Sea Grain Initiative not being fulfilled, little hope for talks - Peskov on connecting Agricultural Bank to SWIFT

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday that he currently had nothing to say regarding the reported possibility of connecting the Russian Agricultural Bank's subsidiary to SWIFT, and said there was not much hope for grain deal negotiations.

Reporters asked Peskov to comment on reports that a subsidiary of the Russian Agricultural Bank might be established to meet the terms of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and that the subsidiary might be connected to SWIFT.

"No, we have nothing to tell you for now regarding fulfillment of the part of the agreements concerning the Russian side," Peskov said.

He was also asked whether there was hope that the negotiations would be successful.

"For now, we can state that some of the agreements remain unfulfilled," he said.

There is still time until the grain deal expires, Peskov said.

"But there is not much hope," he said.
