Scooter sharing service Whoosh mulls expanding to three S. American countries

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Whoosh is considering entering the markets of three countries in South America, the CEO of the Russian electric scooter and bike sharing service, Dmitry Chuiko said.

"We have three countries in the pipeline," Chuiko said in a BCS webcast. The company's press service told Interfax that this refers to countries in South America.

Chuiko said the company has now launched a pilot project in Chile and Brazil "with a partner who has a very promising view of these markets."

"The launches [in these countries] just happened, we're starting to receive the first results. They're interesting, very promising. We will see how it goes there and, probably, next year think about scaling there," Chuiko said. He did not name the third country that the company is eyeing in this region.

Whoosh (Whoosh Holding LLC), a developer of micro mobility solutions and scooter sharing operator with a fleet of 133,000 scooters, currently operates in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
