Yerevan and Baku reach agreement on certain articles of draft peace treaty - Armenian Foreign Ministry

YEREVAN. June 30 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov have reached agreement on some articles of a draft peace treaty during their meeting in Washington, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

"Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan and Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov held one-to-one talks at the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center in Arlington on June 27-29. They also met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Washington," the ministry said.

"The ministers and their teams built on the progress achieved on the draft bilateral treaty 'On peace and the establishment of interstate relations", reached agreements on several more articles, and made headway in their mutual understanding on the draft treaty, at the same time highlighting that positions on certain key issues require further work," it said.

"Both ministers expressed their gratitude to the American side for hosting the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and emphasized their commitment to continuing these talks," the ministry said.
