Eighteen populated localities remain flooded near Kherson, 17 of them in Kiev-uncontrolled territory - Ukrainian State Emergency Service

MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - A populated locality is still flooded on the right bank of the Dnieper River, which is controlled by Ukraine, and 17 others on the uncontrolled left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region following the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant dam's destruction as of Thursday morning, the Ukrainian media reported, citing a message of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on social media.

Water pumping efforts are reportedly ongoing.

"Over the past day, 66,500 tonnes of water have been pumped out of 22 basements, and over 439,000 tonnes of water have been pumped out of 945 residential houses and basements since the start of the [cleanup] effort," the State Emergency Service said.

Forty-seven tonnes of water, of which 36 tonnes of potable water and 11 tonnes of technical water were delivered over the past day, while the total volume of water brought since the start of the cleanup operation amounted to 904 tonnes, of which 611 tonnes of potable water and 293 tonnes of technical water, the service said.
