Belarus and Russia agree 17 industrial import substitution projects worth 80 billion Russian rubles-Belarusian ministry

MINSK. June 28 (Interfax) - Belarus and Russia have agreed on 17 import-substituting integration projects, Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus Dmitry Kharitonchik said on the sidelines of the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa.

"Belarus and Russia have agreed on 17 import-substituting integration projects worth over 80 billion Russian rubles," Kharitonchik said, as quoted by the BelTA state agency.

"An intergovernmental agreement for Russia to provide the Government of Belarus with a state financial loan in the total amount of up to 105 billion Russian rubles was signed in November 2022. The Ministry of Industry of Belarus and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia have done significant work in this direction, and lists of projects have been formed by type of product," he said.

"Funding has been opened for one project, OJSC Gomselmash. Financing for four additional projects will open in June. In addition, we plan to send passports for approval for four more new import-substitution projects," he said.
