Pashinyan, Erdogan discuss Armenian-Turkish normalization by phone

YEREVAN. June 28 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the normalization of bilateral relations by phone on Wednesday.

"The Armenian prime minister spoke with the Turkish president by phone today. Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Eid al-Adha, while the Turkish president congratulated the Armenian prime minister on upcoming Vardavar, the Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus observed in Armenia. The two heads of state discussed the process of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations," the Armenian government's press service said.

Pashinyan and Erdogan also discussed the fulfillment of the agreement to open the Armenian-Turkish border to citizens of third countries and diplomatic passport holders.
