Kiev, Madrid comparing political notes

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Igor Zhovkva, advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office chief, has talked on the phone with Emma Aparici, national security advisor and diplomatic advisor to the prime minister of Spain, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the presidential press service.

"A discussion of modalities of a Global Peace Summit for implementing the Peace Formula is continuing. We are thankful to a substantial number of countries for their willingness to join its practical implementation, in particular, by hosting a Global Peace Summit," Zhovkva said.

The parties agreed to step up joint efforts to engage more countries in next consultations in this format.

They also discussed Ukraine's expectations from an upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. "Its key result should be the granting to Ukraine of a clear prospect of membership of the alliance as soon as the circumstances allow for this, as well as reliable security guarantees during a transition period," Zhovkva said.
