Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company announces tenders to ship foodstuffs on barges from Ukrainian ports to Romania's Constanta

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has announced tenders to transport agricultural produce on barges from Ukrainian ports on the Danube River to Romania's Constanta port, Ukrainian media quoted Dmitry Moskalenko, the company's acting CEO, as saying on his social account.

"Roaring demand for transporting agricultural produce from Ukraine's Danube ports to Constanta is back. This is the most stable logistical route," Moskalenko said.

Some private ship owners have begun to increase river freight rates, and therefore, the Danube Shipping Company has announced a tender for its services, considering a large number of client bids, he said.

The first trading is scheduled for June 29, and bids will be accepted until June 28. The starting price is 1,497,690 hryvni.

"The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has always been in favor of a predictable but market-based and transparent pricing mechanism," Moskalenko said.
