Ukraine's Nibulon starts loading its elevators with 2023 harvest

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - JV Nibulon, one of Ukraine's largest grain market operators, has started its 2023 grain harvest purchasing campaign, and is now receiving its first shipments of barley at its trans-shipment terminal in Nikolayev.

"The company's network of elevator complexes and transshipment terminals was built in places with large-scale grain production in order to reduce transportation time for agricultural producers in the respective regions from field to elevator. So, it's profitable for farmers within a radius of 100 km from Nibulon's facilities to deliver grain in light trucks and save on the logistics component," the Ukrainian media reported, citing the grain trader's website.

Inspections of the technical preparedness of the elevators in all branches were done, specifically involving checks of the readiness of tanks and thermometry, the serviceability of weight and transport equipment, and the sanitary conditions of the territories and the accreditation of laboratories, the company said.

"The measures we have in place will ensure the reliability and trouble-free reception of new crop grain," Nibulon said.

JV Nibulon was established in 1991. Until spring 2022, the company had 27 transshipment terminals and complexes for receiving agricultural crops, capacities for the simultaneous storage of 2.25 million tonnes of agricultural products, a fleet of 83 ships, owned the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant, cultivated 82,000 hectares of land in 12 regions of Ukraine and exported agricultural products to more than 70 countries.

Currently, the grain trader is operating at 30% of its capacity.
