Eurasian Economic Commission announces positive trends in economies of EAEU countries

MINSK. June 26 (Interfax) - The economies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries have maintained their respective positive trends, Iya Malkina, an official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and assistant to the chairperson of the EEC board, said at a briefing on Monday.

"Output of agricultural products in the EAEU has continued to grow in 2023. The increase totaled 2.9% in the first quarter of 2023. Growth was witnessed in all countries of the EAEU. The growth rate was 103.1% in January-April 2023 compared to January-April 2022," the BelTA state news agency quoted Malkina as saying.

Malkina said that manufacturing in the EAEU has entered a positive trajectory in growth. "According to preliminary estimates, growth in the volume of manufacturing in the EAEU totaled 100.9% in January-April 2023 compared to January-April 2022. Growth in manufacturing output is witnessed in all EAEU member countries," Malkina specified.

The volume of construction in the EAEU increased 7.8% in January-April this year, Malkina said.

"In January-April 2023, the volume of mutual trade between the member states of the union rose over 17%," Malkina said.

According to preliminary estimates, the GDP volume index in the EAEU totaled 98.9% in January-March of the current year compared to January-March 2022.
