Russian deputy PM, King of Bahrain discuss work of Russian oil, gas companies in Bahrain, interaction under OPEC+

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain have discussed prospects of work of Russian oil and gas companies in geological prospecting projects in Bahrain, the Russian government said in a statement on its website.

At the meeting, which took place during a Russian delegation's visit to Bahrain, the parties also discussed cooperation between the two countries on renewable energy sources and nuclear power generation, deliveries of industrial equipment, trade, agriculture, and interaction in sports, science, and culture, it said.

The Russian deputy prime minister and the Bahraini king also addressed coordination between the two countries within the OPEC+ alliance.

"The OPEC+ format helps stabilize the global oil market. This is especially important amid attempts by Western countries to take advantage of demand for energy resources for exerting political pressure. A key goal is to combine efforts to make the global oil market more stable and predictable," Novak said at the negotiations.

He also said cooperation between the two countries should be focused on increasing the volume of trade between Russia and Bahrain and diversifying it.
