Ukraine's Izmail seaport receives MOAYAD Y bulker with record deadweight

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Following the seaport of Reni, the seaport of Izmail has received a bulker with a record deadweight of 24,000 tonnes, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority's (USPA) post on its social account.

"Danube ports are continuing to break records. A vessel with a deadweight of 24,000 tonnes is being loaded at the Izmail seaport today, on June 21," it said.

The MOAYAD Y was moored to Quay 3 to be loaded with 14,000 tonnes of grain, including corn, belonging to the Eco Group company, which should be delivered to Egypt.

The largest vessel that has ever been loaded at the Izmail seaport until lately had a deadweight of 13,800 tonnes.

Last week, the Reni seaport in the Odessa region received the BLUE GATE bulker with a record deadweight of 24,000 tonnes. USPA said the port was able to handle this large vessel owing to an infrastructure development program that USPA has pursued along with businesses and the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure. Tentative data indicate that investments in infrastructural projects at Danube ports in 2023 would top $110 million, it said.
