Ukrenergo resumes power supply to areas in Kiev, region following outages caused by emergency

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Power supply to a number of districts in the city of Kiev and the Kiev region has been resumed following outages, the Ukrainian national power grid operator Ukrenergo said.

"All customers have been powered up. Repairs are continuing," Ukrainian media reported with reference to Ukrenergo.

The company had said on its official accounts before that the outages had been caused by "a technical emergency."

As was reported with reference to DTEK, a number of districts in the city of Kiev and in the Bucha district of the Kiev region were cut off from power supply in line with Ukrenergo's directives. About 100,000 customers were left without electricity.

The company then attributed the outages in several districts of Kiev and the Kiev region to problems in its high-voltage grids in the central part of the country and said work was ongoing to do the necessary repairs.
