Kazakhstan's parliament approves implementation of 2022 budget with deficit of 2.3% of GDP

ASTANA. June 20 (Interfax) - Deputies of Kazakhstan's Majilis and the senate of parliament on Tuesday at a joint meeting of the chambers heard and approved the report of the government and the Supreme Audit Chamber on implementing the republican budget for 2022.

Revenues to the republican budget totaled 16.1 trillion tenge, or 102.1% of the plan, in the reporting period. Expenses were disbursed at 98.6%, totaling 18.5 trillion tenge, and the budget deficit was 2.3% of GDP.

GDP grew 3.3% in 2022, and the rate of inflation exceeded the target to reach 20.3% in the country.

The official exchange rate as on June 20, 2023, is 447.15 tenge/$1.
