Ukrainian interior minister: 39 localities remain partially flooded following Kakhovka HPP dam burst

MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - Thirty-nine populated areas and 818 houses remained partially flooded as of the evening of June 19 in the wake of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant dam collapse, Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said.

"While water keeps subsiding, 39 populated areas and 818 houses still remain partially flooded. Rescuers have evacuated 3,773 people and 284 animals and pumped out nearly 24,000 cubic meters of water over the past 24 hours," Ukrainian media quoted Klimenko as saying on his social account.

Eighteen people have been confirmed dead, and another 31 people are missing and being searched for, he said.
