Nikolayevoblenergo restores electricity supply to all 17 populated localities in Ukraine's Nikolayev region blacked out due to flood

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - The Nikolayevoblenergo regional grid operator has restored electricity supply to all 17 populated localities in Ukraine's Nikolayev region, which were cut off from electricity due to the flood following the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant dam's destruction, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the company's press service.

"Our electricians have resumed electricity supply to the affected populated localities," acting CEO of Nikolayevoblenergo Vadim Danylkiv said.

Nikolayevoblenergo is continuing its efforts to power specific consumers, as there are still residential houses and entire streets remaining without electricity in the affected villages.

"We are seeing a gradual drop in the water levels, so new and new 'fronts of work' are opening up. Some areas are still completely flooded, so there is still no way to even evaluate the scale of damage and repair work required to fully restore a stable power supply," Danylkiv said.
