Work on creating a gas hub in Turkey is ongoing at the corporate level - Miller

ST. PETERSBURG. June 16 (Interfax) - Gazprom is continuing work on the gas hub project with its Turkish partners.

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Alexei Miller, Chairman of the Board of Gazprom, commented to reporters: "All preliminary negotiations have taken place. You know the results of the elections. The most important thing is that we are now waiting for a new campaign on these issues with our Turkish partners. Therefore, in fact, we will be continuing this dialogue in the near future. The project has been proposed and announced at the highest state level. In the very near future, we will continue the discussions at the corporate level."

In October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin took the initiative of laying additional gas pipelines from Russia to Turkey along the bottom of the Black Sea, as well as presenting the idea of a gas hub on the EU border, which could become an alternative to other centers for determining gas prices in Europe.

Gazprom and its Turkish partners are working on creating a gas hub in Turkey. The Russian side presented its concept of creating a gas hub, the parameters and principles of its operation.
