Zelensky invites Trump and DeSantis to Kiev

MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has invited former U.S. President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Republican presidential candidates who have questioned continued American military support for Kiev, to visit Ukraine, Ukrainian media said, citing Zelensky's interview with NBC News.

The fact that U.S. politicians are considering reducing the amount of military assistance to Ukraine poses "a major risk to Ukraine," Zelensky said, adding he believes that it will not happen.

Zelensky also called into question Trump's claims that the former U.S. president could end the conflict in 24 hours.

"Why didn't he do that earlier [when Trump was U.S. president]? [...] I think that he couldn't do that," Zelensky said.
