Russian govt to fulfill all social spending obligations - Kremlin spokesman

ST. PETERSBURG. June 16 (Interfax) - The Russian government will fulfil all of its social spending obligations, the Russian president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov said.

Speaking with reporters, Peskov was asked to comment on statements made in recent days about anticipated budget spending cuts, including social expenditures.

"You're probably referring to today's Sberbank breakfast [at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum]... Everyone was talking about how, as spending grows, we need to either think about how to increase revenues or cut expenditures themselves," Peskov said.

"How this will be done, no decisions have been made on this score yet. All of the government's social obligations will be fulfilled completely," Peskov said.
