RusHydro, Mongolia's Dayan Deerkh Energy to cooperate on renewable energy, hydropower

MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - RusHydro and Mongolia's Dayan Deerkh Energy plan to cooperate on renewable energy, including hydropower, infrastructure development of water resources and other areas, the Russian power company reported after the signing of a memorandum to this effect at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Priorities will include developing a strategy for the use of Mongolia's territorial water resources, provision of a whole range of design and engineering services for the design, construction and operation of hydropower plants in the country, and the development and rollout of high-tech, innovative products in the area of hydropower, RusHydro said.

RusHydro is currently carrying out 35 projects in 17 countries with a combined cost of more than 3 billion rubles in the areas of hydropower, nuclear power and liquefied natural gas. The company's key markets are Central, South and Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America.
