Ukrainian PM invites Danish companies to implement infrastructural project in Nikolayev

MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal discussed the aftermath of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant disaster with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and invited Danish companies to build a new water conduit in Nikolayev.

Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account that he informed Frederiksen of the situation within the flooded area, particularly in the Nikolayev region.

Emergency services have evacuated over 3,700 people from the flooded areas, and arranging centralized water supply to the flood-stricken areas is among the priorities at the moment, Shmygal said.

In this context, Denmark's assistance is particularly valuable, as it was among the first countries to take Nikolayev into its care from the start of the crisis and is helping the Nikolayev region to recover, Shmygal said.

The Ukrainian government has decided to build a new conduit to supply Nikolayev with water, and Danish companies have been invited to implement this infrastructural project, he said.
