Russia prepared to ship 1.64 mln tonnes of oil and petroleum products per year to Cuba - Cuban PM

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz announced an agreement reached with Rosneft on the supply of oil and petroleum products to Cuba.

During a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Marrero Cruz said he had visited Rosneft earlier Tuesday. "We were told how the working group has progressed on this issue. Our energy minister was there, together with representatives of Rosneft, they did some very serious work and made progress on many issues," Marrero Cruz said.

There was a specific discussion about the preparation of an intergovernmental agreement "for a stable supply of oil from the Russian Federation to Cuba. This would be a supply of 1.64 million tonnes of oil and petroleum products annually, and Rosneft is ready to implement this project," the Cuban prime minister said.

He stressed the relevance and importance of this agreement for his country. "I enjoy every moment that I spend in Russia. But all my thoughts are in Cuba, as I am very worried about the difficulties that we now have with fuel," Marrero Cruz said.
