Ukraine uses 1,200 MWh of emergency aid from Romania, Poland

MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - In order to maintain the balance in the energy system on June 8, Ukrainian used emergency aid from Romania and Poland totaling 1,200 MWh, Ukrainian media outlets said, citing the Ukrenergy company's pages on social networks on Friday.

"Electricity production is currently meeting the needs of consumers. However, hydropower plants are operating with reduced capacity in order to reduce the consequences of the emergency at the Kakhovka Hydropower Plants," Ukrenergo said.

Ukrenergo urged consumers to use powerful devices during the daytime and nightime instead of the evening hours in order to reduce the load in the energy system and facilitate its balancing during the ongoing summer repair campaign at power units of thermal power plants.

According to the company, from 40 to 249 MW are to be imported from Slovakia on June 9. Minor export to Moldova of 7-9 MW also takes place.
