Gazprom adds 13,000 new employees in 2022, highest number of hires in nine years

MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - PJSC Gazprom hired an additional 13,000 employees in 2022, the highest number since 2013, when the group added 28,000 employees, the company said in its annual report.

According to the annual report, there were 492,200 employees as on December 31, 2022, against 479,200 employees at the end of 2021.

Gazprom currently employs 0.7% of the total number of employees in the Russian Federation.

"Increasing the number of personnel at the Gazprom Group in 2022 resulted from implementing strategic projects for processing and transporting gas; implementing the PJSC Gazprom investment program; reforming the investment and forecast bloc; as well as commissioning large projects for producing liquid hydrocarbons; and developing the area for import substitution at the Gazprom Neft companies," according to the report.

The company hired 3,495 graduates of universities and secondary vocational education institutions in 2022 compared with 2,966 in 2021 and 2,153 in 2021.
