Kazakhstan may cut oil production in 2024 due to extended OPEC+ deal - energy minister

ASTANA. June 9 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan may reduce oil production in 2024 due to the extended OPEC+ deal, Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said.

"We will review the issue next year and will consider the need for cuts. Production will be reduced if necessary," Satkaliyev told reporters, while commenting on 2024 oil production plans.

He could not say how much oil Kazakhstan would produce in 2024.

As reported, Kazakhstan's oil production is forecasted at 92.6 million tonnes in 2023 and is expected to grow to 103.2 million tonnes in 2025.

Kazakhstan has extended its commitment to cut the daily oil production by 78 barrels per day under the OPEC+ deal until December 2024.
