Russia interested in implementing oil, metallurgical projects in Cuba - PM

SOCHI. June 7 (Interfax) - Russia attaches great significance to implementing large-scale projects with Cuba, including those aimed at increasing oil recovery at Cuban fields and upgrading the metallurgical plant in Havana, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"We attach great significance to implementing large-scale joint projects which are primarily designed for the long term," Mishustin said at a meeting with Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz in Sochi.

The conditions are being established, in particular, to expand the work of Russian companies in Cuba, which was agreed at the highest level, Mishustin said. "We welcome your government's decision to give preferences to our businesses on the Cuban market. I know that our businesspeople applaud this decision and are making plans, investment plans, for work in Cuba," he said.
