Several power transmission lines disconnected from grid in Kiev area - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Several power transmission lines have been disconnected from the grid in the city of Kiev and the Kiev region, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Energy Ministry.

Nevertheless, the power system as a whole is operating in a stable manner, and there is no electricity shortage, the ministry said on social media.

The national power grid operator Ukrenergo said on its social account that transmission lines were damaged in the Kharkov region and in the part of the Donetsk region controlled by Kiev, which caused an outage in a local coalmine.

A total of over 13,000 customers have been cut off from power in the Kharkov region, and there have also been outages in the Sumy and Chernigov regions, the Energy Ministry said.

According to information available on the ENTSO-E website as of June 2, Ukraine's commercial exports of 1,000 MW/h of electricity to Poland continued for five hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 200 MW, while the country also imported 1,078 MW/h of electricity from Slovakia, mostly at daytime. No information concerning Moldova is indicated on the website. Ukrenergo said on social media that it also imported electricity from Moldova, without specifying its amount.

The volume of natural gas stored at Ukrainian gas storage facilities grew by 27.4 million cubic meters to reach 9.5 billion cubic meters as of June 1.
