Zelensky meets with Aliyev, expresses hope for Azerbaijani support

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in Chisinau.

"The Ukrainian president expressed hope for the active involvement of Azerbaijan in the support for our country's initiatives aimed to achieve endurable and fair peace on the basis of the Ukrainian peace formula," the Ukrainian media quoted a statement by the Zelensky press service after the meeting.

The media said that Zelensky thanked Aliyev for comprehensive humanitarian assistance given by Azerbaijan.

"We highly appreciate Azerbaijan's participation in the reconstruction of infrastructural elements in the Kiev region. We are hoping for assistance in further reconstruction of Ukraine. We also count on the active participation of Azerbaijan in investment projects in Ukraine in the post-crisis period," Zelensky said.
