Presidents of Moldova, Ukraine discuss joint projects

CHISINAU. June 1 (Interfax) - Moldovan President Maia Sandu has met with her Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, who is visiting Chisinau for a summit of the European Political Community.

"We discussed cooperation, our common agenda, joint infrastructure development projects, and matters of solidarity," Sandu said.

She voiced support for Ukraine and Zelensky's peace formula.

In turn, Zelensky thanked Moldova for supporting Ukraine, in particular by taking in Ukrainian refugees. "We will move towards Europe together, our common future lies with the European Union. Ukraine will [join] NATO to ensure its future security," he said.

The European Political Community summit is taking place in the village of Bulboaca, 35 kilometers from Chisinau, on the premises of the Castel Mimi winery and tourist attraction.
