Zelensky meets with delegation of Atlantic Council U.S. think tank

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with a delegation of the Atlantic Council, a U.S. non-governmental think tank, and the organization's President Frederick Kempe, Ukrainian media said, citing Zelensky's press service said.

The Atlantic Council delegation also include John Rogers, David Petraeus and John Herbst.

Zelensky, for his part, thanked the delegation for its Ukraine visit, which he described as another important signal of the United States' support.

"I thank [U.S.] President Joe Biden and the entire American people for their strong support of Ukraine [...] We appreciate the bicameral and bipartisan support of the U.S. Congress," he said.

The parties discussed Ukraine's expectations with regard to the NATO summit in Vilnius in July. It is important for Ukraine to receive a clear signal about the prospects of its membership in the alliance, Zelensky said.

At the meeting, the Ukrainian president was also presented with the Atlantic Council's Global Citizen Award for his contribution to the development of Trans-Atlantic relations.
