U.S. assistant secretary of state to visit Baku

BAKU. May 31 (Interfax) - U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt will visit Baku on May 30 - June 2 for the 28th Baku Energy Week, the U.S. Department of State said on Tuesday.

"Pyatt will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan, May 30 - June 2. While there, he will participate in the 28th annual Baku Energy Week, which consists of the International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, the Caspian International Power and Green Energy Exhibition, and the Baku Energy Forum," the statement said.

He will meet with members of the Azerbaijani government to discuss energy security and broader use of renewable energy, it said.

Pyatt is also planning to meet with representatives of energy sectors of other countries and organizations while in Azerbaijan, the statement said.
